How To Lose 10 Pounds

August 30th, 2009

There are many ads out there for diets, fat burners, programs, etc. that show people with their impressive before and after pictures stating “I lost 90 pounds and now am a perfect size 10” or some such claim. The first impression is to say “wow! That really works!” Before getting excited, let’s remember something. First, how many people are looking to lose a hundred or more pounds. OK.

So maybe there are a lot. Let me ask this: how many people have only a “few” pounds, say, from 20 to 50? I thought so.  I, just because I was frustrated, called for a study one time, where they wanted people to participate in a weight loss program. It was either free or they paid you. Yep! Added bonus! Anyway, they asked if I was more than 100 pounds overweight. I was not. Actually have never been and hope I never am.

But, the would not let me participate in the program because I was only looking to lose about 20 pounds. Gee, thanks! The bottom line (ok, no pun intended there) is that the last few are the hardest to lose. We forget that. So when we are getting “close” we are, in away, seeing the target getting further away as we will be approaching it at a slower and slower rate. I would really like to see studies and success stories for those of us who have the hardest pounds to lose…the last few.
